But it is a really good idea!! Curd rice is a traditional dish in Chennai and no lunch is complete without a final serving of the cool subtly spicy dish. It is so common in Madrasi homes and restaurants that 'Krd Rys' cannot be called an innovative product. But nobody ever thought of packaging and selling it before Hatsun Agro Product Ltd did. I am sure competitors are banging their heads against the wall for not having thought about it before. The USP of this product is the standardized processing and packaging, making it a hygenic product, besides being pretty competitive in terms of price. While Saravana Bhavan charges Rs. 27, the price of Krd Rys is Rs. 16. The price is at around Rs. 20 at other restaurants. I would go for Krd Rys for the quality plus the price.
Am waiting for sambar rys, lime rys, tomtom rys....
Cant help but echo a blogger when he calls krd rys a treat for bachelors(me incl.) living out of hostel messes and restaurants.
